A keylogger, sometimes called a keystroke logger, key logger, or system monitor, is a hardware device or small program that monitors each keystroke a user types on a specific computer's keyboard. As a hardware device, a keylogger is a small battery-sized plug that serves as a connector between the user's keyboard and computer. Because the device resembles an ordinary keyboard plug, it is relatively easy for someone who wants to monitor a user's behavior to physically hide such a device "in plain sight." most privacy advocates agree that the potential for abuse is so great that legislation should be enacted to clearly make the unauthorized use of keyloggers a criminal offense.

A keylogger is a program such as spyware or a software that monitors your keystrokes, it records all your files you saved your keystrokes on your system, can access all your emails, even your instant messages.
In a sense if used properly yes its a great program to have especially as an administrator, where your responsible for security, an if your in a position or job that requires to deal with classified information, that way you can keep track of all the employees use of the system, to make sure nothing is saved or transmitted or downloaded that, might become a security breach or risk.
Also, if not in a security minded inviroment can be helpful in monitoring employees work habits see if their spending time chatting an emailing, out to friends an waisting company time.
Then again if your system has been hacked by an outside user, then they can id a user an be able to access your next work by gaining their user name an password by using the keylogger spyware.
In my opion in the right hands it can be useful in the wrong hands can be detrimental an distructive.

A keylogger is a type of surveillance software that records a person's keystroke, from e-mail to web address. The upside of keyloggers are, they can help with the workplace, such as employees looking up inappropriate material. The downside of keyloggers are, people can put them in spyware and record your personal information, and can infringe the person's 4th amendment rights. There are also conspiracy theories going around that Google is using keyloggers to see what you are searching.

Key logging is softwear that monitors what keys are hit and what and how a user is useing thier computer. For security of a companie this is to make keep track of the emploies and keep them honest and retrace tier steps if they do something malisious. For hackers it is a way of getting passwords and account information for stealing.

Keylogging can be used to audit activity among employees, but is much more prominent in the subtle information aggregation market. The implementation of any keylogger(s) can vary, however the end goal is the same. The end goal is to send aggregated data to an external source for utilization, be it by streaming, TOR, or even down to sneakernet. There are many malicious intentions amongst any community using keyloggers.

A keylogger is software or hardware that has the capability to record every keystroke you make to a log file and save that file on your computer or in the memory of the hardware device. The log file can be sent to an email address also. Keyloggers, as a surveillance tool, are often used by employers to ensure employees use work computers for business purposes only. Unfortunately, keyloggers can also be embedded in spyware allowing your information to be transmitted to an unknown third party.

A keylogger is a software program user to bacically record the keystrokes or buttons pressed on a keyboard that cna be monitored on the user's computer as well as a remote computer. A positive use for it would be to see if co workers were doing what they were supposted to do but the biggest downfall is that it is usually used by hackers to steal information, mainly personal info such as back account, social secuity info and other objects related to it.

Mac OS X Lion is the operation system used in MacBookAir's. It is an update from Mac OS and features new touch features for the laptop.
